James "Jim" Hall

Sanbornton----James “Jim” Hall, 73, of Sanbornton went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, February 13th.  He left this world peacefully with his wife beside him and surrounded by his entire family.

Jim served in the U.S.A.F. for 4 years making the rank of Sgt. during the Korean conflict.  He drove for Trailways for 25 years and retired from the company in 1986.  In 1986, he began work as a corrections officer for the N.H.D.O.C. and retired from there in 1996.

Along with his love for his family, Jim’s great passion in this life was playing softball, which he did for 40 plus years.  In his retirement years, Jim also developed a love for bowling.  It wasn’t only the game or sport he loved, it was the camaraderie and the friendships he made.

Jim fully enjoyed his retirement years.  He filled those years with carpentry, refinishing furniture, spending time with family and playing with his many grandchildren.

Jim was a loving husband to his wife, Barbara, for 54 years.  He was a caring and devoted father to 7 children; Jay and his wife, Debbie, Tracey and her husband, Sid,  Scott, Todd and his wife, Susan, Travis and his wife, Shirley, Tina and her husband, Chris.  He was Poppa to 14 grandchildren; Meghan, Colby, Troy, Trevor, Taylor, James, Corey, Lili, Christian, Ashley, Elise, Morgan, Bryce and Ryan and 3 great grandchildren; A.J., Caitlyn and Landon.

Jim was predeceased by a son, Trevor, and his parents.  He will be greatly missed.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, February 18th at the Second Baptist Church, Upper Bay Rd., Sanbornton.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 N. Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246 or the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247.
